In addition to film, music, and pop culture, Award Season is an exciting time of year when it comes to fashion and beauty trends. Each show has historically had its own vibe and when it comes to the Grammy’s it’s all about taking risks with your Red Carpet style. Among the winners — we loved looks from artists like Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Lana Del Rey, and Victoria Monét, among others.
The Style Moments from the 2024 Grammy Awards
Miley Cyrus Gave Us All A Moment
Among her 5 outfits, while many of us were concentrated on the bespoke Maison Margiela gold safety pin dress Miley Cyrus was wearing, still others of us were obsessed with her hair. Giving us some serious Cher and Dolly Parton parallels, Miley’s hair was styled up, up and away from her face and very closely matched that of her boyfriend, Max Morando. Her makeup was simple yet chic with shimmering gold shadow and a classic liner.
Dua Lipa Red
Whether you’re already a fan of Dua Lipa or just beginning, it’s clear that Dua Lipa red hair color is soon to be trending. Pulling off a Cherry Cola red with languid waves and minimal makeup, her hair and her 70s-inspired Courreges metal dress seriously stood out. It’s soon to be a Dua Lipa summer!
Victoria Monét Shines Bright
Monét won the Best New Artist Award, and in our opinion, she also won the Red Carpet. A vision in bronze, her style started with her hair and carried on with her stunning Versace gown (and her daughter Hazel even had a dress with matching fabric), which had them both standing out. The key to this tonal look was the “Bronze Melt” hair color Davontae Washington created for Victoria Monet with a root touch-up using Wella Professionals Koleston Perfect 4/0. From here Washington wove sections with Wella Professionals Welloxon 30vol for highlights and utilized Koleston Perfect 5/71 with Welloxon 20vol for lowlights. Wella Professionals ULTIMATE REPAIR Shampoo was used at the bowl to remove the lightener and then hair was toned with Koleston Perfect 8/3 and Welloxon 10vol.
After the color was perfected, and post shampoo and conditioner, it was time to style. The first product Washington used was Wella Professionals ULTIMATE REPAIR Miracle Hair Rescue, which he applied on her damp hair, then blow-dried it straight. This product was key to ensuring shine, strength, and smoothness for Victoria’s hair in just 90 seconds.
Lana Del Rey’s Fringe Deserves Its Own Ovation
Nominated in 5 categories, while Lana Del Rey didn’t bring home a Grammy this year, her style definitely won us over. With a new retro fringe, lined lips, and a mod dress to match she stood out in our minds and is inspiring a whole wave of “goth-ette” fashion this season.
Taylor Swift Always Has A Subtle Cue
From the green velvet dress to her Schiaparelli gown, T-Swift’s fashion choices have been under speculation lately. Her choker really sealed the deal with cues to her Midnight album while her black and white outfit choice — as some speculate — was a nod to her new album release The Tortured Poets Department, which some say she’s been teasing with a black and white photo. She donned a shimmering gold eye with cat eyeliner, but overall, her style also leaned on the goth side with her choker and dramatic lip.
