Tell us more about yourself.

I’m Luis Chevere, born and raised in Puerto Rico. I grew up in Florida, which is where I went to school. My background is in Cosmetology, which I have integrated with barbering techniques, as you can see through my social media.

Being a receptionist in a salon at 17, I was introduced to the world of hair. I went to my first hair show with my team and saw the passion of the barbers and stylists on stage. This is what drew me to become an educator. I continue to grow as a stylist and barber by using a clipper and scissor combination, in which I marry both the fundamental structure of barbering with advanced texturing scissor techniques.

Defining moments?

One of the most defining moments of my career would have to be when I was picked up by my first company to assume the role of national educator. That moment is what gave me the push into the education world.

I create; it is just what I do! First, by taking into consideration the hairstyles of previous years, and elevating it to the next level with versatility and longevity by using my cutting techniques. You always need to be able to evolve cuts and styles that have sustained popularity through the years.

Favorite style?

When it comes to style; I’ve always been drawn to vintage, the 1930’s and 40’s style. It’s a classic era so it can adapt to modern style easily.

On photo-shoots, I assure that everything is cohesive and in order when it is go time. It always helps to have a great team to help create the exact look of the shoot.

Favorite Products?

The products I prefer to use ADH Brand on every client. When it comes to a tool, I’ve found myself loving the Vess 2000, which is a denman sytle brush; it was actually a recommendation by my friend, Andrewdoeshair.

Technique?

My cutting style is blending the two worlds of barbering and cosmetology. Creating a foundation then building with texturizing and layering.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?

If I had a superpower, I would like the ability to teleport. So I could go to any location in the world that was in need of education.

Mentors?

One of the biggest mentors I’ve had in my career would be Andrewdoeshair, owner of ADH Brand. I feel he’s brought something to our industry that we’ve been missing for a long time. He’s been able to explain what to do, when to do, and why to do it, which has helped many stylists and barbers alike.

Trend Forecast?

We can look forward to seeing men with longer styles, while women will continue to go shorter and shorter. The classic dapper pompadours will be making their way even more mainstream with movies coming out based in the 20s and 30s, it will be Classic meets Modern.
