Who said Fashion Shows had to be held on a runway? In his NYFW debut Love X Fashion X Art, Spanish Painter Domingo Zapata made a splash with his theatrical performance to show off his Fall 2017 womenswear line. Held at the LES nightclub The Box, it was an art meets fashion show with influences from his native culture and urban youth.
From Flamenco dancers to a “human” bullfight, the performances showed off more than just clothes, but a lifestyle wherein fashion meets art.
“Each theme deserved its own look and feel, so the styling all depended on his vision. No model had the same hair look. We created some reverse braiding to showcase mixed textures. We did an amazing slick topknot to bring out his Spanish-inspired looks and Matador. His Urban theme, called for a cool, young city look, working with structured textures to bring the street theme to life. We Crimped, curled, textured and worked to let his vision of free spirit compliment Domingo’s amazing styles.” - Fabio Scalia, Hair Lead
From killer braids to beautiful curls and slicked back styles and voluminous updos, the looks were created using label.m Sea Salt Spray, Resurrection Dust, Volume Mousse, Texturising Volume Spray and Heat Protection Spray.
