Although fashion usually influences beauty trends, we can’t help but take a little credit for the latest relevant trend on the runways. With creamy tones and barely-there patterns - neutrals and nudes seem to be spring’s latest style as told by Haute Couture.
Dresses that delicately resembled cake – with frosted colors and layers upon layers – were present at Chanel, Giambattista Valli, and Dior while Jean-Paul Gaultier, Zuhair Murad, and Francesco Scognamiglio embraced androgyny with a new way of pantsuits. Beyond the soft tones and androgynous nature, the naked palette struck a cord with Dior, Valentino, Maison Martin Margiela, Ralph and Russo, and Giambattista Valli.
In hair and beauty, we see the “new nude” regime with the return of natural toned haircolor and the embrace of natural texture. With nails we see a close resemblance not only with the shades but also with the use of negative space in nail design to create a new view of the nail – very similar to the cutout concepts seen in this season’s garments.
While we are on the heels Fashion Week all over the globe, we can’t wait to see what other trends turn up this season and can only wonder if we’ll see more influences from beauty within fashion.
