“Life with friends is priceless, and who better to share in your dreams besides family, is friends” – Sabrena Handley
We auditioned for the Redken Artist program in January 2015 and were accepted into the new hire training in April 2015. At this point we had no idea the adventure that was about to unfold. After we graduated in November 2015 the bonding continued between us as we discovered a new love of becoming editorial stylists. “To have the honor and the privilege of working with these two women is priceless the rest is just a bonus,” said stylist Terry Boyd. This is the story of how 3 hair artists met and became best friends.
Through hair, art, and education, we created a bond and started our journey together by attending The Redken Exchange Finish & Know Why program. That's where we really got the editorial bug. Then we attended a Luxury Finishing 5.0 Session at Tearsheet (July 2017), where we worked on developing our skills and on a set shooting our looks. Two of these looks made it into the Bangstyle Supreme contest! We stayed in NYC 14 days to attend Tearsheet, CenterStage (Redken Exchange), then to work at NYMFW.
The next time we met up again was in October of 2017 to attend Premiere Beauty Show in Birmingham, Alabama, to branch out on our own and do a photo session. Next, our Journey took us to our RAC training in Austin, TX in January 2018, and now we are headed in June 2018, to Orlando, to attend Premiere Beauty Show.We have a couple more photo shoots in the near future to just keep growing our skills. We are a great team and love working with each other. It’s like we “GET IT” we can read each other’s minds.
“Dream Big, Work hard, Stay focused & surround yourself with good people.” – Kyong Wells
We can’t wait to see where our journey takes us in the future. Maybe even a cover of a magazine one day...
