After salons were closed for...ever, we can’t wait to dive back in and create some gorgeous locks! But trends change even during quarantine and clients are itching for something new. With TV shows delayed on production, Red Carpets halted, and fashion shows on pause our #inspo has shifted to social media. The clients are now the trend makers and we are loving what they are requesting.
Gray for Days
If this time without our trusted stylists taught us anything it’s that your next hair appointment is never guaranteed and for our grey retouch clients that were less than ideal. Queue some beautiful transitions to an all-over natural grey for easy maintenance and pandemic proof hair.
E-girl Hair
E girl hair seems to be what happens when a money piece, block color, and fantasy hair make a baby...and we are here for it. Whether it be an exaggerated face frame or a two-toned finish E-girl hair took over TikTok and then our salons and it looks like it’s here to stay. Anyone else feel like this is a throwback to the early 2000’s scene hair?
Shagalicious Locks
Shags aren’t really a ‘new’ fall trend but they are showing their lasting power and becoming more customizable. We love anything from a long soft shag ala Bridgette Bardot to a Stevie Nicks symphony of texture, to a good ‘shaglet’ when a mullet and a shag collide with the perfect styling.
Neverending Length
“I never knew my hair could be this long” is the new siren song of every client who left their locks untouched during the quarantine. While some couldn’t take it, others embraced their exaggerated lengths and 70’s vibe. We beyond love these lengthy tresses especially when combined with one of our favorite color trends of barely-there balayage.
Balayage Babes
Speaking of balayage, this is one color technique that is there to stay. Now more than ever clients realized that lived in locks = lower maintenance. Not only that but they are embracing natural warmth so open-air balayage applications are perfect. Right now a kiss of color is all most clients want to create a soft natural dimension that doesn’t have to be touched up.
