The French Braid is one of the most classic styles to create with your hair. It is the foundation for advanced techniques, can be altered based on hair type and texture and is a foolproof way to step up any style. While many learn this 3-strand style in middle or high school, some are left without the knowledge. In this tutorial, Ramona Krieger of Love2Braid shows us exactly how to get the French Braid style you’ve always coveted.
Step 1:
Divide the hair into 3 strands and begin with a normal braid – placing the left strand over the middle strand and the right strand over the middle strand and repeat.
Step 2:
The beginning of the braid is secured. Now it is time to add hair, so you TAKE a piece of hair from the left side and ADD it to the left strand – THEN - place them OVER the middle strand.
Step 3:
You will do the same on the right side. TAKE a piece of hair from the right side and ADD hair to the right side and ADD it to the right strand – THEN – place them OVER the middle strand.
