There are so many fabulous ways to wear braids, and lately, we’ve been seeing mini braids on all of our favorite celebrities! It’s a trend that looks like a million bucks, but really only requires the effort of a nickel. And that’s surely a trend we can all get behind.
There are so many different ways to wear mini braids, including french braids, simple three-strand braids, bubble braids, and more! Here are three ways to wear mini braid ponies, as inspired by some of the hottest celebs!
Face Framing Mini Braids

Hailey Bieber is someone who has been influencing us for years, and we can now add mini braids to the long list of inspiration we’ve gotten from the young reality star turned beauty mogul! Earlier in the summer, Hailey gave us the vacation look we all aspire to have; a sultry mermaid who just swam up to the shore with two mini braids perfectly framing her face at the forefront of her beachy waves. This look was so hot, we couldn’t help but want to recreate it, and we thought you might want to as well.
Getting this look isn’t as difficult as you think. First, you’ll want to part your hair down the middle, and take about an inch of the front of each side to use to create your braids. Do a simple three-strand braid on each side, and secure with a rubber hair tie. Once your mini braids are complete, it’s time to create your beach waves!
Of course, having access to the beach to get natural beach waves would be the easiest way to create this look, but we understand that not everyone can live in Malibu! All you need to do to get a messy beach look, is to spritz a bit of this spray on slightly damp or dry hair, scrunch it in and go! Mini Braids Ponytail

Ever since she stepped onto the music scene, Dua Lipa has been serving look after look after look! We can’t get enough of this pop star’s looks, which is perfect, because she’s always serving up the best! Most recently, she’s shown up the perfect mini braids ponytails! This playful look is so effortless, and can also be a second-day look that looks just as great as the first-day style!
If you’re going to create this look using second-day or even third-day hair, we first recommend using Redken Deep Clean Dry Shampoo to absorb any excess oil and give your hair an instant refresh before re-styling. Then, once your hair is clean, separate your hair into two parts, and secure each side in a ponytail towards the back center of your head. Then, focusing on one side first, divide the strands of the ponytail in two parts (if your hair is thicker, you may want to do more than two braids per ponytail). Clip one part off to the side, and braid the second part as you normally would. Fasten, and repeat to the part that’s clipped to the side. Once you’ve finished that side, move onto the other ponytail and repeat the same steps.
