The 2018 Pantone Color of the Year has been announced: Ultra Violet! It’s a shade that will probably have both blondes and brunettes rejoicing all year round! Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute says of the new color: it “communicates originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking.” While Greenery was a great way to boost 2017 with a sense of renewal and awareness for sustainability, Ultra Violet brings about a sense of drama and a spark for a new future.
Described as “a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade,” Ultra Violet “communicates originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future,” said Pantone. This bright hue echoes the 80s shades seen on the runways, the pops of color throughout the beauty realm and a popular shade within the hair industry.
We’ve already seen the shade resonate with hair artists and the beauty industry across the globe and to celebrate this new shade PRAVANA is giving us an inside look on how hair colorists need to recreate this shade on clients!
