Whether that involves organizing your closet, redesigning your meal plans or jumpstarting a wellness routine, one thing is for certain — we could all use a style detox! If dry shampoo has been your best mates the past few months read on for a few of our favourite ways to refresh your hair as the seasons change.

Hair Detox 101

1. Brush Better

Some hair types might not brush their hair often, if you have curls, coils, or waves, you most likely skip the post-shower comb in lieu of finger styling to preserve the shape. However, it can be a great idea to brush hair thoroughly prior to getting in the shower. This allows you to rid your hair of any tangles, remove excess shedding and stimulate the scalp to begin loosening product buildup. To truly get the benefits, section your hair and begin detangling starting at the ends and moving toward the scalp. Once you get to the scalp use a rolling motion to allow the bristles to sweep along the scalp and invigorate the skin.

2. Add Treatments

With an extensive SCALP.SPA range, KEVIN.MURPHY has 4 treatments to add to your routine — SCALP.SPA SCRUB, SCALP.SPA WASH,  SCALP.SPA TREATMENT and SCALP.SPA SERUM

The perfect pre-wash treatment, SCALP.SPA SCRUB is used in the shower on wet hair to slough off dead skin and impurities and prep the scalp for further benefits of the SCALP.SPA range. The secret to this scrub is the Perlite pearls that work to exfoliate any hair texture or density with ease.

Following a healthy scrub, apply SCALP.SPA WASH to the scalp to treat and rinse away the scrub and prepare the scalp and stands for any products that are used after.

The SCALP.SPA TREATMENT is a foam product that is applied to damp or dry hair in stripes at the scalp. The foam then expands and can be massaged into the area with fingers or the SCALP.SPA BRUSH to distribute. The treatment is then left on for 20 minutes before rinsing. This masque removes dirt and excess oils while soothing the scalp and aiding in hydration thanks to the addition of Hyaluronic Acid.

SCALP.SPA SERUM is a leave-on treatment that can be used all over or to target specific areas of the scalp. This lightweight, fast-absorbing serum helps reduce impurities while regulating sebum production to balance a dry or oily scalp.

3. Utilise Leave-In’s

Leave-in treatments are a great habit to get in to help improve the nourishment of your hair. STAYING.ALIVE is one of our favourite ways to treat damaged hair and increase moisture without weighing the hair down.

4. Air-Dry When Possible

Excess heat can affect your hair but it can also harm your scalp. Whenever possible, cut down on heat on the scalp that can sometimes lead to flakes or itchiness. Instead of heat styling opt for air-drying instead with the new KILLER.TWIRLS air-drying creme.
