521e2a210c203bbc1a34 shag hairstyle

Wondering what to do with your new haircut? This updated shag cut looks gorgeous on textured hair! With movement, volume and tons of character, all you need to do is learn how to create the style! In this tutorial from evo, we learn how to style it two ways; a faux bob, and down and daring.

  1. Prep your natural curls while damp with Day of Grace prep spray and Whip It Good styling mousse for hydration and frizz control. Comb out with Roy for defined and aerated curls.

  2. Blend Shape Vixen volume lotion and Love Perpetua shine drops and massage through the hair, twisting the curls into ringlets, working from the bottom to the top.

  3. Without disturbing the curls too much, use your hand to lift the hair up in sections and diffuse on low air and high heat until completely dry before moving on to the next section. Continue this until curls are dry and ready to style out.

  4. Tip the head upside down and shake curls out, diffuse the roots on the crown again to make sure they are 100% dry and to set the volume in.

  5. To add volume and style support for your curls- add some Haze texture powder to the roots and rub in. Use She Bang a Bang Dry spray wax to finish and add extra definition to the ends.

  6. Split the hair into large sections and tie hair together in knots through the nape. Pin to secure and release layers around the face for a faux bob effect.
