I’ll admit, on a recent trip to Sephora I felt a little overwhelmed but left ultimately inspired. As summer comes to a close and our sun-kissed skin begins to fade I saw the need to update my makeup kit to usher in a new routine for fall. No-makeup makeup will still be my go-to, but I am embarking on a search for a few new looks I can keep in our arsenal for when I’m feelin’ fancy.
After dipping my fingers in everything I saw, I left looking like a scene out of twilight – highlighters got the best of me. I came home with a few key items (without breaking the bank) that I’ll be utilizing for the unforeseeable future.
Swap Out Sponges
Up until now, I relied solely on my Beauty Blender for all my foundation needs. While great for travel, I’ve wanted to switch to a brush for ages. I settled on the Sephora Collection Pro Domed Foundation #78. This not only felt heavenly to the touch, but also seemed like the perfect mix of soft and stern to get the job done. Great for liquid foundation, and meant for full coverage looks, this brush will blend and buff for a beautiful finish.
Creamy & Dreamy
Highlighters are a great addition for your no-makeup makeup as well as full-face effects! After much hesitation, I decided on the Nudestix, Nudies All Over Face Color Bronze + Glow in Illumi-Naughty. This pick didn’t combat my olive-toned skin and provided a simple glow that seemed to shine from within. (The runner-up was the ever-popular RMS Living-Luminizer).
Line It Up
It’s been years since I’ve incorporated eyeliner into my routine – I opt for excess amounts of mascara instead. In this case, I picked up STILA Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, for a soft but defined line that goes on easy and stays in place all day!
