Behind The Scenes at Paris Fashion Week
What would you do if you got a call asking you to be at Paris Fashion Week in 3 weeks time? It might not be as big a deal for the everyday person, but as a hair or makeup artist you jump on the opportunity! For these 11 artists, this is exactly what happened. Redken Artist, Heather King, led a talented team of stylists at Paris Fashion Week for the Stevie Boi Fall/Winter 2017 show. With sleek up styles, beautiful braids and bold lips, the team helped create quite a show.

Individuality has been a huge trend throughout various mediums among designers, stylists and artists alike. This was prevalent at the latest Fashion Weeks in New York, London, Milan and Paris; runways were filled with natural textured models of all shapes and sizes. To achieve this type of look, stylists used air-drying techniques in combination with perfectly paired products, creating a natural feel.

Sarah Burton’s Fall/Winter Collection for Alexander McQueen seemed to add on to the influences incorporated in her Spring/Summer collection. Although last season there was a Scottish influence from the Shetland Islands, this season took from that the deep, dark, almost dream-like state of a stormy seaside coast full of primeval influence. Burton’s Ready-To-Wear for Fall 2017 showed off a feminine strength rooted in the Middle Ages and simple, soft, and unstructured for the modern woman. A look both in fashion and beauty most are calling “bewitching”.
