MFW Bottega Veneta Fall 2017 - Guido Palau
Structured coats, color blocking and accentuations of the female form strolled down the runway as Bottega Veneta created their own era by way of a new silhouette. With belted jackets, high necklines puffed sleeves, tailored waistlines, and a pantsuit or two; they aimed to show off a classic feminine feel for the modern woman. The men debuted with fitted jackets and coats with the occasional bow tie and natural textured hair to match. Accompanying the traces of dusty rose, pale yellow and pastel blue, the women wore a soft twisted upstyle with a modernized ‘40’s flair.
MFW Prada Fall 2017 - Guido Palau
With a not-so-subtle nod to the ‘60s and flares from the ‘50s and ‘70s, Muiccia Prada created a revolutionary show amidst the backdrop of a teenager’s bedroom. With vintage movie posters lining the walls, the set gave off an undertone of the designer’s beliefs that were hard to be missed. The show was full of bright colors, dazzling textile designs and knee-length hems that still screamed sexy. Matching sweater sets and fur lined shoes and hoodies juxtaposed the crystal-beaded fringes, only adding to her mixed-medium affair. Hats were abundant everywhere at Fashion Week and at Muiccia’s show Baker Boy hats were donned atop the beautiful hair Guido Palau created.
NYFW Baja East Fall 2017 - Guido Palau
We’ve seen a few nontraditional debuts in fashion this year and while Baja East introduced their styles on the runway, it was their after-party that garnered the most attention! Part of their release was a bash at Kola House. In a paparazzi style presentation, it-girls and models alike unveiled new looks as they arrived with Scott Studenburg and John Taragon; becoming an interactive exhibit all throughout dinner. Their collection is made for just this type of event, which is why the concept paired so beautifully. Down-to-earth plaids mixed with luxe velvets were the staples behind their glamorous grunge aesthetic. These looks were combined with understated eyes, a bright bold pout and individualized hairstyles for each girl, which allowed them to accentuate their own personal style.
