Anna Quan’s ’19 Resort collection was inspired by all things holiday. Her styles evoked a spirit of summer with sunshine filled days and warm evenings and had us thinking about booking our next adventure ASAP! While white was the overwhelming shade, tones and fabrics were mixed and stripes made a welcomed appearance in the show. When it came to the hair it took on a very laissez-faire feel.
Edwards and Co-Head Stylists and MBFWA Co-Creative Hair Directors, Byron Turnbull and Jayde Turner-Ledwidge, tell us exactly how to achieve this runway look with the following steps:
SHORT HAIR
• Prep hair with ANTI.GRAVITY and blow dry smooth.
• Taking a deep side part on the left-hand side of the head.
• Section out the left-hand side hairline and secure.
• Once done, a loose bend is put into the hair with a large tong.
• Once cool, spray DOO.OVER and brush out.
• With a small tong taking parallel sections along the hairline. taking small sections and curl the hair with each section being clipped up with pin curl clips.
• Spray SESSION.SPRAY and let cool.
• Once the small curls are cooled brush outing the flat brush creating finger waves.
• Loosen the texture up and push the hair off the shoulders.
• Finish with DOO.OVER for ultimate texture.
MEDIUM LENGTH HAIR
• Prep hair with ANTI.GRAVITY and blow dry smooth.
• Create a deep side part on the left-hand side of the head.
• Make a loose bend in the hair with a large tong.
• Once cool, spray DOO.OVER and brush out.
• Section one of half of the hair from the tops of the ear to the
• Pull the bottom section of hair to the crown and use a hair elastic to secure away in a pony.
• Take the first section and pull over the pony - use elastic

• Pull out the hairline at the front of the face to highlight
• Finish with DOO.OVER for intimate texture.
LONG HAIR
• Prep hair with ANTI.GRAVITY and blow dry smooth.
• Taking a deep side part on the left-hand side of the head.
• Section out the left-hand side hairline and section away.
• With a small tong take parallel sections along the hairline, grab small sections at a time and curl the hair. Clip each section with pin curl clips.
• Spray SESSION.SPRAY and let cool.
• Once the small curls are cooled brush out with flat brush creating finger waves.
• Loosen the texture of the hair and push towards the back of the nape.
• Secure hair into a flat pony at the lowest point of the nape and use elastic to secure.
• Fishtail braid the hair and secure with elastic embellished with gold metal.
• To complete the look, twist gold wire through the braid.
